Who can skate?

Wexford Roller Rink is suitable for all age groups. Our skates for hire range in sizes from Junior size 10 to adult size 12.  Children as young as 3 or 4 are welcome.

*Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. The adult doesn’t have to skate but they must remain on the premises.

Where is Wexford Roller Rink?

We are located on the Quay in Wexford Town.  Please use the pedestrian crossing at the Bank of Ireland or at Wexford Bridge.

Is the rink outdoors or indoors?

The rink is covered with a clear roof marquee. So you can still skate when it’s lashing rain during a typical Irish Summer!

Is it wheelchair accessible?

Wexford Roller Rink is a large open building without any steps.  Our entrances are wide enough to accommodate wheel chairs and access to all amenities is generally open plan. If you require specific information regarding access, please telephone 053 9199199 or email us, on info@lantern.ie

Where can we park the car?

Parking is available within nearby car parks in Wexford Town. Disabled parking is also available along the quay and in nearby car parks.

Do you have toilet facilities?

Temporary toilet facilities will be available on the premises; including an accessible toilet.

Is there food available at the Roller Rink?

Yes Wexford Roller Rink has its very own snack bar. Serving cold drinks, tea, coffee, snacks and most importantly ice cream!

Do you have a cloak room?  

Yes we do, it costs €2 to use this facility.

How long can we skate for?

Each session lasts for 50 minutes. They start on the hour, for example 1pm, 2pm, 3pm. Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior the start time to book in and collect your skates.

Do you provide skates and what is your largest size?
Skates are provided and included in the price. Our largest size is 14.

Can we bring our own skates?

Yes – However management reserve the right to prohibit the use of skates which are not in a good condition.  All personal skates must be clean and in good repair.  NO MISSING WHEELS OR SHARP EDGES.

For health and safety reasons inline Skates (Roller Blades) are not permitted for use in the rink.

Persons using their own skates and equipment are responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of such, and Roller Rink Wexford cannot be held responsible for any accidents, damage or injury caused by such skates and equipment to you or a third party.

What clothes should I wear?

Roller Rink Wexford insists that socks must be worn with hired skates.

We also advise wearing long sleeves and long trousers to help avoid skid burns/grazes, however it is completely up to each individual.

What protective equipment should I wear?

Roller Rink Wexford highly recommends the use of personal protective equipment during skating activity. Helmets are available to hire at a small charge at the skate hire desk. Wearing protective equipment will greatly reduce the chance of injury due to a fall / collision. Roller Rink Wexford accepts no responsibility for injury caused by a fall / collision which would have otherwise not occurred if protective equipment had been worn.

Can I skate if I am pregnant or have a Pre-Existing Medical Condition?

We highly recommend that you do not take part in skating activity if you are pregnant or suffer from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, brittle bones, joint injuries or any other condition that could be aggravated by this activity.

Are you insured if I fall and injure myself?

Roller Rink Wexford is a fully insured event.  As with the nature of roller skating, there is a strong likelihood that you may fall. You skate at your own risk, we cannot be responsible for injuries sustained as a result of roller skating.

Do you post out tickets if I book online?
No, if you book online then your tickets are sent to the email address that you specified when making the booking. We don’t post tickets.

Do I have to book or can I just turn up?
You can turn up and you will probably get a ticket, however if you want to be guaranteed a particular time then we recommend that you book in advance.

If I have booked tickets and can\’t make it, what happens?
We have a no exchange or refund policy on Roller Rink Wexford tickets, if you cannot make it we suggest that you try and give your tickets to someone else.

Is there an admission fee if I’m not skating?
There is no charge for entry to the event for spectators.

Can I book by phone?
Yes, you can call us on 053 91 99199 to make a booking or for more information. However please be advised our Box Office is only open Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 5:30pm and on Saturday from 10am until 5pm.

Group Bookings

For groups of 10 people or more we offer a 10% discount. We will accept group bookings via the Box Office only. It must be booked and paid for in advance. You can call the Box Office on 053 9199199 or email boxoffice@lantern.ie . Please be advised the Box Office is only open Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 5:30pm and on Saturday from 10am until 5pm.
